Just as with classic automobiles, antique tractor owners have a number of clubs and orginizations supporting the hobbyist or serious collector of these reknown workhorses. They can be a great source of technical information and advise.

There are chapters across the land, and most likely, near your home. You may also find a lead on an antique tractor for sale, or a buyer for your finished project.
You have an antique Case tractor that you would like to fix up to use around your little plot of land, or even your mid-size farm. You may even want to restore it to it's original factory specifications to display at an antique farm equipment show.

Whatever your plans for your tractor, you're sure to need new, or if you can find them, used parts. With some effort on your part, you should be able to find what you need to fix up old Case, Minneapolis Moline Tractors, or even rusty old Allis Chalmers tractors that's been in the barn untouched for 25 years.

The seeds of Case were sown in Rochester, Wisconsin, in 1842, when Jerome Increase Case started his company. He moved soon to Racine, manufacturing thrashers that became highly popular throughout the state. That venture propelled Case to form the J.I. Case & Company in 1853. Case built a steam engine for tractors around 1876, and their first garden tractor in 1892. Case currently manufactures a variety of industrial and farm equipment. And having been around for as long as they have, there should be plenty of antique Case tractors on the market today unless you are looking for a specific rare model.

The Minneapolis Moline tractor was built by the Minneapolis Moline Power Implement Company which was formed in 1929 as a result of the merger of the Moline Plow Co., Minneapolis Steel and Machinery Co., and the Minneapolis Thrasher Co. In 1949, the Minneapolis Moline Power Implement Company changed it's name to Minneapolis-Moline. The company was bought by White Motor Company in 1972 and continues operating presently as AGCO. Some of Moline's contributions to the agricultural community include the first enclosed cab tractor, power front axle, and shift on the go transmissions.

Allis Chalmers, a major Milwaukee, Wisconsin manufacturer first embarked on building farming machinery around 1914. The company built farm tractors, industrial tractors, and the Simplicity lawn tractors as well as numerous types of motors, pumps, valves, military machinery, among many other products. In 1984, Allis Chalmers sold it's tractor business to German firm Deutz Corporation. Eventually Deutz was sold to the newly formed Agco Corporation in 1991.

There are parts available for many of the antique tractors which were produced by the afore-
mentioned companies as well as maintenance and operators manuals. Good luck in your endeavors to keep alive and running these mighty old machines.
