arquees are a good option if you want your wedding reception in your own garden or that of a willing parent or friend. While the thought of planning your marquee wedding may be intimidating, the benefits of having a reception tailored to your exact requirements can be hugely rewarding.
In general most marquee weddings will involve four suppliers: the marquee company, the caterers, the florist and a DJ or band. Obviously, you may choose to buy a marquee or supply the catering, music or flowers yourself.
The marquee company should design the layout of the marquee(s) and would normally be responsible for providing:
* the marquee(s) including lining and flooring * power and lighting for the area * heating * furniture * dance floor * toilet and cloakroom facilities if required
The caterers should create the menu and would normally be responsible for providing:
* the food (including canapés) * waiting staff * drink * bar staff (if required) * linen, cutlery and crockery * equipment for catering area (if required)
The Florist should provide the flowers for the marquee, church, bridal party and any others required.
The DJ or band should create the atmosphere.
Additional contractors to consider are:
* Specialist lighting companies (some marquee companies incorporate these) * Theming companies – to add to the unique flavour of your wedding * Firework suppliers * Additional music (string quartet, jazz band etc) * Toast master * Specialist bar company (able to supply cocktail bars, pay bars etc)
You will of course also need someone to supply the cars, a cake and a photographer!
