irework Shows are the anchor for 4th of July celebrations in cities across the US. When we think of Firework Shows, we can’t help but have a sense of pride for what our Country represents. Through battles, wars and terrorists we stand strong for what we believe and never forget those who fought for us. We are free, we are protected, and on the 4th of July, we come together and we are united.
Fireworks were accidentally invented by the Chinese thousands of years ago by mixing sulpher, charcoal, and saltpeter; common household items at the time. A Chinese monk named Li Tian, who lived near the city of Liu Yang in Hunan Province, is recognized with the invention of firecrackers approximately 1,000 years ago.
Settlers brought fireworks to the Americas around the 1600s, where they continued to be used to celebrate special occasions and to impress or frighten Native Americans. The very first 4th of July celebration was in 1777, only a year after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The United States was still in the middle of the Revolutionary War and the outcome was still not certain, but beautiful firework shows gave a sense of hope and patriotism to the citizens of the young nation In America and throughout the world, firework shows are used to celebrate many special occasions. In the U.S. the most notorious day for firework shows is the 4th of July, celebrating our national independence
Firework shows have come along way since the beginning. They are more colorful, more diverse, and more choreographed each year than the year before. I can’t wait to see what they will come up with in the future. I hope everyone enjoys their 4th of July and the firework shows that follow, as much as I do.
