Before you begin to lose weight, there is one thing you must put into your head. An image and feeling of you in your new desired body! Visualization is a very powerful technique for achieving many goals, so it is very important that you use this to your advantage. We all have an ability to imagine anything, especially when we are children. We do not have any doubts or worries, instead we have faith mixed with emotion. These two things together are the most powerful tool to achieve any goal on earth, and can be your goldmine when asking that dreaded question, 'how to lose weight'.

Positive thinking is a technique that is and has been used by several people, but it is not really one that has been considered in the 'how to lose weight' market. Research shows that our brains become active when in specific situations, however the interesting part is that the same parts of our brain are active when the situations are being imagined or visualised. The basic idea of this is to feel how you would feel when you will lose weight, and what you would want to do when you have lost all this weight. These positive thoughts will help nurture your mindset and give you an advantage to lose weight quicker. Think positive always! By thinking positive we attract positive things in our life, hence the law of attraction. This is a forgotten law, feel free to do some research on this.

Now don't confuse this, because you do require to put fourth some effort of your own and not just mere imagination. The principle of this technique is that once your mind is positive and you have built that burning desire to want to lose weight, you will begin to work on yourself and help yourself lose weight. Where as before-hand you probably would have been to lazy, or had something better to do. So the way the system works is by generating a positive thinking attitude, you allow yourself to do things which you would not have done before because of your negative mindset.

Sounds too much? Don't worry, it is not exactly an easy concept to grasp. Especially if you are completely new to the law of attraction. A great book I recommend to everyone is 'The Secret'. This book explains how these forgotten laws work and can help us achieve anything we want in life. Another recommendation is 'Think and grow rich' by Napoleon Hill, which is the original source of where the law of attraction derives from. These books are not directed on how to lose weight, but are fantastic reads and can definitely give you an insight on how the system works.

I have designed an exercise for those of you who would like to try this method. The exercise is designed to start embedding the thought of your new desired shape in your subconscious mind, this will allow (as Napoleon says) infinite intelligence to abide to your commands. In other words, if you truly believe you deserve to be in a better shape and can visualise yourself in this shape, the universe will make your burning desire come true. Yes you can lose weight, but you must believe it first.

You must start by writing out a statement saying what you want to accomplish, when you want this done by (try to be realistic), and what you will give in return! Now you don't have to give money or work, it can be your constant efforts in meditating your positive mind. An example: "I will lose 10lbs by the 10th of September 2008. I will meditate this thought impulsively to achieve my goal." By reading your statement to yourself six or seven times a day, it will slowly 'leak' into your subconscious mind. This will then allow you to start having positive thinking and lose weight.

Historically this method has been used to generate money, better heath and relationships. Refer to the books mentioned above for more information they are truly inspiring books to read and will definitely have an impact on your life, whether it be with relationships, how to lose weight or money.
