UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, Feb 23 — Here’s some good news for those looking for a job in the Gulf. The UAE seems to be slowly recovering from an economic crisis, and continues to remain a popular destination for expatriate workers all over the world. A leading UAE recruitment firm has reported that employment prospects in the country are increasing and it is expected that Dubai will revert towards much of its former momentum by the end of 2010.

ere’s some good news for those looking for a job in the Gulf.
The reason for this hopefulness is that there has been a surge in the number of job applications from expatriates since the start of the year, which is increasing the database of candidates for nearly every task, function and discipline in a wide variety of industries from construction engineering to accountancy, and retail selling to media relations.
This unique situation in the UAE job market may have been prompted by its history of traditionally being dominated by expatriate workers. Prior to the slump in the local real estate industry and the credit crunch that followed the mishandling of the Dubai World debt repayment issue, Dubai was a veritable investor’s paradise and foreign companies profited greatly from the unprecedented boom in real estate. In the six years prior to 2008, Dubai was a sea of developmental projects of every shape and description, as architectural firms were given full license to vent their creative prowess. Dubai has been transformed into a modern metropolis of inspiring splendor, as hundreds of skyscrapers and other architectural wonders dominate the landscape. The success of this vision was ensured through a steady supply of experienced professional and international executives from the US, Europe and South Africa, often supported by migrant workers from Africa, Asia and the rest of the Middle East.
The growth in the job market has also been fueled by renewed activity in the services and support sector, which has also contributed in helping maintain strong international interest in the UAE job market.
Even today it has been found that migrant workers and expatriates account for more than 90 per cent of the entire working population of the UAE, providing a clear picture of who really drives this country’s job market. As junior, mid-level and senior-level professionals from different nations continue to actively search for profitable employment opportunities in the UAE, this will in turn help several business organizations in the country and also recruitment firms to maintain a highly competent pool of manpower resources.
Despite the economic crunch, some recruitment firms have continued to entertain a growing number of applications from expatriate workers looking for new prospects in the Middle East, particularly in the UAE. This says a lot about the reputation of this region as a hub for the global job market, while also reflecting on the uncertain economic situation in the USA, Europe and other regions that have still to recover from the effects of a near global recessionary trend.
The high concentration of foreign workers in the Gulf has been a key factor that has made this region one of the most dynamic and active job markets in the world. Given that there is no dearth of job vacancies UAE, one can certainly try their luck here or alternatively look for jobs Abu Dhabi or job vacancies Abu Dhabi, as that is the capital city of the UAE with a far more stable economy.
