Here are some tips as how to preserve your wedding dress.
Send the wedding dress immediately to a professional laundry house after the wedding so that the any food, drinks or body oils left on it can be removed in time. Remember the longer you hold it uncleaned the harder it will be washed clean. Previously make sure that the trimings or decorations such as sequins, beads and lace can survive the cleaning process.
After having it professionally cleaned, we must find some tissue paper which has a strong power to suck the moisture. We can use it the tissue to stuff the bodice area and the part that are curvy. This procedure will be very helpful for the tissue paper will not only prevent the dress become damp and it can also prevent the areas from becoming ceased over time.
Fold the dress carefully and wrap it entirely, using the same acid-free white tissue paper that was used to stuff the curvy areas.
Find an acid free cardbox and then place the wedding dress in it. It is easy to find such a bos as most bridal shops or formal wear boutiques offer special boxes for preservation purposes.
You’d better store the dress in a cool and dry location as dampness and heat can ruin the dress over time.
Bear in mind that the cardbox for storing the dress must be changed every 3 or 4 years in case of the reacidifying of the box to harm your dress.
