he Internet revolution has changed our lives in more ways than one. Information at the click of a button is something we all started to take for granted. And, that’s why our benchmark about what’s hot and what’s new is changing, evolution you can say, but that’s the way forward, no doubts about it. The genre of news is also undergoing a tremendous churning; news that’s on papers has become stale. First indication towards the decline of newspapers came with the advent of television the 24X7 news format made everything that’s even one hour old, stale!

For one, it’s free! You just have to have an Internet connection to access content on the internet. So, effectively it’s riddance from one more bill!
More importantly, the USP of Internet as a medium is that it confers the power to choose, a surfer can pick and choose what exactly he wants to read or watch – something that’s not a possibility with TV news channels or newspapers as with them you have to watch or read what you are being offered. The end user doesn’t have a say!
After all, as it is with everything in the world, the more power to choose you bestow on the end-user, the more comfortable he his with the concept. He is getting all the breaking news but at his convenience and in the way he wants it.
Moreover, industry experts are unified in the belief that the Internet age has just started. With the advent of faster broadband connection, hopefully Wimax versions too, the whole media industry will see a massive churning.
Faster the Internet, sooner it will emerge as the best source to get news. The inherent cogs are all in place, what will be needed is to fasten the process of internet’s accessibility. But one thing sure though, pace of Internet’s penetration can be slowed down, but it cannot be stopped. Breaking news via the Internet is the way forward for sure!
