He has to be updated on all the current activities that have happened in the animation front along with his entire portfolio of creative work done in the educational and work span associated with the individual. The first preparation starts from day one of the academic process where the students first make the project and every project is to be treated as a part of the portfolio for a glorious job in animation.

Animation interviews may be for another school where an individual wants to extend his learning or for a job where the student is planning to kick start his career. Animation interview is not a very difficult thing to surpass; all you have to do is make sure that all your projects are in place from day one of your studies it also includes all the projects and freelancing work that you have taken up during the tenure of your education to any work experience that you might possess. It also involves inserting work done during live projects or any internship undertaken.
Apart from your portfolio what also matters is the kind of theory knowledge that you possess of the field of choice apart from the specialisation that you have undertaken. It makes a good impression to have a thorough knowledge of the entire field of animation under purview and media and entertainment field in totality. It is important because at the end of the day you are a part of the media industry itself and to have an extensive knowledge about films and movie making is an added advantage, as sometimes you have to work on projects which involve a mixture of commercial films and animation.
When you are preparing for an interview what also needs to be done is that you need to read and update yourself about the company and all the work that the company has done till date as it always gives a good impression on that front. You also need to put across the fact that the kind of work you are looking for is exactly what the company is into.
Another important thing is the cover letter. It is of primary importance in all interview processes and so it is equally important even in any animation interview. A good cover letter highlighting the skill sets that you have along. Though it is not widely read as much as resumes but that does not mean that it should be ignored. In your cover letter, explain the type of position that you are applying for. Keep it concise, but elaborate as much that they realize that you understand the requirements of the job and make them feel you want to give it your best shot. Do not use a ready letter where you just edit some lines and your work is done, include their work details and put it across how much their work has been appreciated.
Read up in trade magazines and websites and journals about them as there will always be something written about them which will help you get the job you always wanted. Use good grammar and punctuations and make sure it is neat and tidy as you do not want to give an impression of you being haphazard in your work.
