here are plenty of nightmarish stories featuring annoying mosquitoes! The incessant itching and scratching is enough to drive a person crazy. However, mosquitoes can be more than a mere nuisance, they can be downright deadly. There is a real risk of contracting Malaria, Dengue Fever, and other viruses through mosquito bites, with Malaria remaining one of the world’s greatest scourges. The most vulnerable groups are pregnant women who contract the mosquito-borne disease developing severe anemia and giving birth to underweight babies, and young children who are bitten while they are lost in sleep.
Protection from biting mosquitoes is the first line of defense against malaria in endemic areas. Many development agencies focus on distributing Mosquito Nets to combat the disease. This initiative has resulted in a huge upsurge in the number of Mosquito Bed Nets supplied to some populations. A Mosquito Net Treated with a ‘pyrethroid’ insecticide to kill and repel mosquitoes is known as Insecticide Treated Net (ITN). The basic treatment is good for more than a year or up to 3 washes. Long Lasting Insecticide Treated Nets or LLINs are impregnated with long-lasting insecticide to eliminate the need of continually applying fresh coatings of chemicals to nets. This insecticide treatment is good for 5 years and up to 20 washes.
The primary purpose of Mosquito Nets is to create an impenetrable barrier between humans and mosquitoes. There is a huge variety of Mosquito Netting available, depending on the changeable needs of people:
· Mosquito Nets For Beds are strong, durable, spacious and allow good air circulation. These nets are better suited to more permanent and fixed locations. Classic examples are the Guardian, Mykonos & Venice nets.
· Mosquito Net Tent self erects upon opening. Examples are ‘Santorini’ for the travelers & ‘Santorini Cot’ for the babies.
· Baby Mosquito Net is a simple net to protect babies and infants. It has regular netting and is light enough to be stored in small bags. · Mosquitoes Band is made of non-toxic substances like ‘Citronella oil’, and is safe to be worn by the whole family.
There are 5 ways to attack mosquito borne diseases in areas that have major issues with these viruses, they are: 1. Chemical sprays of homes and towns. 2. Larvaciding which are organic chemicals that kill mosquito larvae in stagnant water. 3. The removal of stagnant water sources that are breeding grounds for mosquitoes. 4. The addition of mosquito larvae eating fish into rivers and streams. 5. Wide distribution of LLIN’S. For travel and in the home, a basic mosquito net is a simple solution against these annoying Mosquitoes. Mosquito Nets are the best way to keep these little bloodsuckers away and avoid those unauthorized blood donations!!
