A re you trying to learn how to paint? Learning the Techniques In Painting is not hard as long as you study and practice proper techniques and follow step by step instructions.  Some artists can create from scratch, while others need a reference. Do not assume that you are not creative if you need a reference!

You will be absolutely amazed at yourself and at how easy and fun painting is to learn once you start practicing.  As you learn to draw and learn to paint, you will discover that several different techniques form the foundation of your art - the brush you use, the colors you choose, how you apply the paint, and so on.  You form your own unique painting techniques.

You may learn from others but your work will be uniquely your own and you will refer back to the techniques that you have found that worked for you. You should review all art mediums such as acrylic, oil, watercolor or pastels and choose the one that you feel most comfortable with. As you practice, you will learn to paint in your own unique style.

Techniques vary from medium to medium. With acrylic paint, for example it is common to allow one layer to dry and then paint or dry-brush a color over it. With oil paint, you must learn how to paint wet on wet because oil paint take days to weeks to completely dry. With watercolor, you use thin washes or mixtures of color in water and let the colors mix or bleed together.
