It looks like then that we are as powerful as God. Practice makes perfect

hen God created man saying: "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness,” did God mean a lesser image or an exact likeness of His being? Well, the writings do not say anything less. The scriptures say our image, after our likeness then followed by a period, not a comma or any other punctuation mark, but a period nothing more nothing less. It looks like then that we are as powerful as God. Indeed, we are as powerful as God because man is the only living creature who can neutralize the living presence of God.
David Copperfield once said that the power of the Mind is limitless. Well one may argue saying that David is an illusionist. Although I do not agree with that idea, but okay, suppose let us find out what the Son of God has to say. Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Yahushua even went further in Mark 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
In all the healing miracles of Yahushua, He never said I healed you, but said something like: (Luke 17:19) “Let it happen then as you believe”; (Matthew 9:22) “Your faith has healed you”; (Matthew 9:29) “According to your faith will it be done for you.” This means that they all practically healed themselves by means of their belief, and therefore, it follows that we have the power to heal ourselves. This is the mind power that Edgar Cayce, Andrew Carnegie, Napoleon Hill, Linda Goodman, Og Mandino, and all proponents of positive thinking have been talking about.
The preceding paragraph tells how powerful we are. This is the positive aspect of our power. In the first paragraph I stated that we have the power to neutralize the presence of God. That is the negative aspect of our power. In this physical universe there is such thing as the law of polarity which means that everything can work both ways positive or negative, good or bad. Here is a Biblical scenario to illustrate the negative side of our power. In Matthew 14:25-31 Peter was walking on the water toward Yahushua when suddenly he started sinking. Yahushua caught his hand and told him: “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” The mind of Peter worked against him when he doubted. This is how Peter’s mind practically annihilated the power of Yahushua right in front of Yahushua. See how powerful Peter’s mind was and definitely our mind too.
Here is another illustration of negative mind power. Adam and Eve were like God before the fall. They were immortal. They saw the angels, the beauty of Eden, the tree of life everything that was good about Eden and about them. They were all-seeing except for one thing—evil. That means they were even greater than the Angels for not knowing evil, only good. In fact, the Angels were serving all their needs in life. Unfortunately, there was one angel who did not like the idea of a Johnny-come-lately to become greater than him.
Lucifer did not like the idea of serving Adam and Eve. Lucifer was above all his creation on earth and was enjoying everything for a long, long time and then suddenly came Adam and Eve and God wanted him to serve them. This was not acceptable to him. And so, Lucifer told Eve that if she ate the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, she would not die. (Genesis 3:5) Instead she would become like Gods knowing good and evil. Well, who does not want to become like gods? However, Eve was like the gods already, but by mere thinking that she was not god, she lost her godliness. She was trapped by the power of her own mind working against her like what happened to Peter.
The power of her mind was driving away the presence of God in her. Let me repeat this. Eve was so powerful that just a bit of thought that she was not god seemingly annihilated her godliness.
The Devil knows this. The devil is not allowed to destroy us by the wave of his hand. In this sense the devil is completely powerless over us. So, he does his thing by tampering with our power of choice. He does his destructive scheme by persuasion, temptation, deception and even intimidation. In so doing , the devil sets our mind against the power within us that makes us live forever.
In other words, we destroy ourselves by our own choice by believing in the devil. The devil tempted Yahushua to believe that He was not the Son of God (Matthew 4:3) by challenging Him to turn the stones into bread. But unlike Eve, Yahushua was not lured into believing that He was not the Son of God. If He allowed Himself to be tempted He could have lost His godliness. The devil made another attempt by offering Him all the kingdoms of the world (Matthew 4:9). However, Yahushua did not forget the fact that the Word through which the universe was created was within Him, so why desire for the kingdoms of the world when the world is only a very tiny part of the universe. Yahushua could have lost the world He was supposed to save by thinking that it does not belong to Him at the time. He firmly refused to think that way.
In the fourth paragraph of this article I said that Eve “seemingly annihilated her godliness”. Seemingly means that the godly power of Eve was still there. The only trouble was that her mind was set to work against it, and by mathematical principle of this universe equal against equal is zero. Another problem is that this frame of mind was encoded in the DNA of Adam and Eve’s descendant up to the present generation and the generations to come.
We call this venial sin. At this point, the reason behind all the bad things in this world should be apparent. Imagine even just 40% of the 3 billion people in this world are thinking against God and against each other. What if so many people think that the Father and His Son and all the angels are not here? (Matthew 28:20) This would belie Yahushua’s statement that He is with us always even until the end of the age, and consequently make room for more disaster and suffering as what is happening now. If only one person like Peter could render ineffective the power of the Son of God right in front of Him by doubting, how much more 1 billion of us? Do you think only 40% of us think this way? I am afraid it is more than that.
Now, what do we do? Why don’t we do this every night beginning tonight? Instead of thinking against yourself for making that stupid mistake, thinking against your wife, your brother, sister, father, mother, neighbor, your boss, your office mate, your parents in law, whoever in the world for whatever reason; why not relax, take a deep breath, forgive and pray for those who have offended you (Matthew 5:44). We can do this every morning too and as frequently as we can within a day. Practice makes perfect. This will enable us to break out of the matrix of programming 3X6.
