THAILAND, Mar 25 — When you think of gong for treks in the jungle in Thailand you will either think of Khao Sok or Chiang Mai. There is many great places in Thailand for jungle trekking but these 2 are the best. Chiang Mai in located in Northern Thailand which Khao Sok is located in the South just a few hours or so drive from Phuket and is located in the province of Surat Thani.
There are many places to trek in Thailand but my option is these 2 places are Thailand’s best and would Have to say Khao SOk is hands down the best natural place to trek in Thailand and maybe even the world

If you like jungle treks with mountains and seeing hill tribes, than Chiang Mai might be the place to go for this. There is a wide range of tour packages to suit all needs from beginner hikes to advanced hikes. SO all you need is a good pair of walking shoes as anyone from all age ranges can participate in a mountain trek.
Beautiful scenery and you will be surrounded by lush evergreen trees. One thing I did notice or should say I didn’t notice was I did not see any wildlife apart from a few birds after doing a 5 hour mountain hike which I though was strange, so it was either just a bad day or Chiang Mai just do not have much wildlife to offer which is a real shame as its a beautiful place. One of the great things about trekking in Northern Thailand is the weather varies and is not always hot like in most parts of Thailand.
Now Khao Sok is in Surat Thani in Southern Thailand and is one of the most untouched places in Thailand. There is a few jungle trek tours available and which ever tour you pick, you will immediately notice all the wildlife in the jungle. Limestone caves and cliffs and just a natural untouched beautiful landscape has got a lot of tourists lately visiting and revisiting Khao Sok.To me It is one of the most beautiful places in the world and I have done my fair of traveling, I can no name any place that I would say is better than Khao Sok, they might be equal but not better. It also has some of the rarest species of birds and over 500 different species.
There are many places to trek in Thailand but my option is these 2 places are Thailand’s best and would Have to say Khao SOk is hands down the best natural place to trek in Thailand and maybe even the world. It’s a place you should visit at least once in your lifetime.
