English countable nouns have singular or plural forms (dog-dogs) while all of Chinese nouns usually has one form (gou).
2. The basic word order of Chinese sentence is similar to English, that is, subject - verb - object. Many key terms of Chinese like state, party, festival, and science are literally translated from English. So Chinese might give you a familiar feeling.
