In this network processing the credit card processing terminal is operational within a radius of several hundred feet from the location of its base unit which is connected to a phone line.
There are immense benefits of using mobile solutions for accepting card payments. By using this the costs of processing is reduced because wireless transactions are processed in a card-present environment. Also with a wireless terminal the customer remains in possession of the card at all times and hence the security increases. Another benefit of using these solutions is that one could easily & immediately process card payments at trade shows, conventions, or on your customers' premises. In this way additional processing options are also increased.
Though there are a lot of factors which tend us to increase the usage of mobile processing solutions but there are few limiting factors also: The cost of using wireless terminals is significantly higher than that of regular point-of-sale terminals especially when your processing volumes are low. Also one more factor that limit its usage is that one should check the reliability of the network that your prospective provider is using in the area as the network connectivity is being improved continuously and you might be using in the area you will be operating in before setting up a wireless merchant account.
