ver since the Harry Potter books I have read so many books in the fantasy genre. I love this new series because its different then my normal vampire books. The life of a witch and/or a wizard is so interesting being able to do whatever you want whenever with magic. It’s dark and exciting, definitely a page turner! I couldn’t stop reading it. I can’t wait to buy and read the second called The Gift.
Wisteria (Wisty) Allgood and her older brother Whitford (Whit) Allgood tell their sides of the story and prove to be this novels brave heroins. They are stolen from their family by a rude awakening in the middle of the night. They are treated like animals and brought to a prison no better than a concentration camp. The Allgoods are accused of being a Witch and a Wizard and found guilty on all charges of magic. Before this night they had no idea magic even existed. Completely blind sided from the beginning and learning as they go; They are put on an epic journey fighting for their lives while still only being teenagers.
By the end of the novel I was hungry for more and eager to know what happens. The characters are all so relateable and anybody can read this book and enjoy it from beginning to end...
